Triple D Workshop: Data Driven Decision Making

This year ICTA will sponsor two workshops, one in September and the other in February, which will focus on needs of CTE administrators. The September workshop will develop skills assisting career and technical educator involvement in the school improvement planning process. Administrator Academy Credit will be offered. This will be followed by a networking dinner in the evening.

On September 28, 2009, ICTA, in collaboration with SDLC, AVDC, and ISBE, is sponsoring a full day workshop scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The workshop on Data Driven Decision Making is available for Administrator Academy Credit and participants will learn about each section of the School Improvement Plan. ISBE encourages career and technical educators to become involved in both the School and District Improvement Plans (SIP/DIP) and this workshop will help participants learn the following:
*How to analyze data to find academic levels using WorkKeys and other tools
*How to create activities for students, CTE teachers, and parents to address student skills
*How to monitor these activities to see if they increase student achievement
Note: Participants are asked to bring a laptop computer to work on their own school/system data in the afternoon.

On September 29, 2009, the ICTA Board will meet, followed by a meeting of the System Director’s Leadership Council and the Area Vocational Center Directors.
